October 2008

We took the kids to Coopersville to ride the Pumpkin Train. Rylee was so excited, she loves trains and now she was finally able to ride one. It was a really nice ride, and we got to see a lot of really pretty fall colors. We rode the train to Marne where we stopped and they detrained the engine and drove it around to the other side to drive us back to Coopersville. The girls had a little time to walk around the train while we were waiting. There were some actors on the train that were dressed in costumes that went back and forth throughout the trip between the train-cars. There was a pumpkin, a crow and a scarecrow. They were pretty entertaining.Katelyn wasn't sure what to think if the man in the scarecrow costume, when he was on our train she would sit so still and just stare at him, it was so cute! They sang a song and had the kids waving their hands.
Katelyn frowns all the time, I tried to get her to smile but these were the pictures I got.....

Rylee thought it was so cool to wave at the cars from the train, usually she is watching the train from inside of our car.
After the train ride all of the kids got to pick out a pumpkin.
We had coupons on the back of our train tickets for free ice cream cones from McDonalds, so of course we had to stop there on the way home. Katelyn had some cookies, I don't trust her with and ice cream cone yet, especially in the car!
I don't know where Rylee got this pose from, but I thought it was so cute. The girls love to play with Sadie, she is about 3 1/2 months old now and is over 30 pounds!! Jon put an electric fence in our yard (yeah, the whole yard!!) for her and she is doing really good on it. She has only gotten shocked twice and now when she gets close enough to the wire that she hears the warning beep she runs back into the yard. She now knows how to come, sit, shake, leave it, lay down and stay. She has also basically stopped the "puppy biting", now we just have to teach her to stop jumping on people when they come over....

Sadie was pulling Katelyn around the house with the leash and Katelyn thought it was hilarious.
Rylee was so excited about decorating her pumpkin. She used all kinds of things on it. It has glitter for its hair and mouth, feathers for ears, and of course it had to have 3 eyes because she is 3 years old.
The weather has been surprisingly nice for October, we had pizza outside one night and the girls loved sitting together at their picnic table.

Katelyn loves riding the pony.
I was vacuuming in the living room and I thought Katelyn was playing in Rylees bedroom. When I was done, I thought it was way too quiet in the house. I went to check on the girls and I found Katelyn sitting in the pantry eating brown sugar!! She was a sticky mess, and my brown sugar was pretty nasty! Of course I tossed it.

September 2008

I was leaving the house one day and this is what I saw across the street. Some guy was driving too fast and hit the gravel in front of our house and lost control. He ended up going through our neighbors yard, then spun out of control and rolled his truck across the street into the ditch upside down. Luckily he had his seatbelt on and he wasn't hurt! Katelyn loves Sadie, she plays with her all the time and always kisses and hugs her. Sadie is actually really great with her.

Playing outside in the morning.
We signed Rylee up for a preschool-age gymnastics class at the YMCA. It is once a week for 7 weeks. She absolutely loves it and she does great! They do different things each week to keep it fun for the kids.

Rylee loves to help teach Sadie her tricks. She is now 10 weeks old and was fully housebroken within about a week and a half after we got her!! She is in puppy preschool classes and she can already come, sit and shake! She is gaining about 2 pounds a week.

We took the girls out for breakfast at New Beginnings and then we went to Playworld.

Rylee must have taken a pen out of my drawer (which she knows she not supposed to do) and put it in her table in her bedroom. Katelyn found it and was pretty excited!
Here's Katelyn laughing with a huge mouthful of pancakes.
We got bunkbeds for Rylee's bedroom and she loves playing on the top bunk! She sleeps on the bottom bed for now, but eventually Katelyn will be moving in with her and the baby will be taking over Katelyn's room. Hopefully it goes alright with the girls sharing a room!!

It was about 90 degrees out today, so we took the girls to the splashpad at Lamar Park. They had a ton of fun, but this was the only place they would play on the splashpad. They didn't like getting water in their faces, so they stayed in this corner where the water didn't go very high.

After naptime the girls played dress up together. Katelyn's hair still gets pretty wild after she takes her naps!
