Happy Birthday Rylee!!!

I can't believe Rylee is 4. Where does the time go?! She was so excited that it was her birthday, she had to wear her "Happy Birthday" crown all day. It was too cute. We celebrated at night with Jon's parents. Rylee got a lot of cool things.

Rylee was so happy to get a new bike. She had been talking about how much she wanted one for her birthday. After I had bought it she said she wanted a princess bike, luckily that was the one I had bought for her!

We celebrated Rylee's 4th birthday with my grandparents a little early. She was super excited, and she got just what she wanted! A cabbage patch doll with hair. Thanks grandma and grandpa!!
Tyler missed out on the celebration, he slept in his carseat most of the time.

Tyler, 3 weeks old

Tyler is growing like a weed! He's a great baby and the girls love him. We were worried at first about Katelyn being rough with him, but she's great. Tyler doesn't sleep very good yet, at night he's up all the time. He won't sleep in his bed, but if he's in his swing he'll sleep up to 2-3 hours at a time. But most nights he's up every 1-2 hours. Not cool when the girls get up at 6:30am and I can't go back to sleep!!

Hanging out with friends

We had some friends over for dinner. We had a great time and the kids loved playing together. It was definately a lot of work watching them all though!! All together we had a one year old, 2 two year olds, a four year old, a twelve week old and a two week old. Whoa!

Easter Sunday

We celebrated Easter this year with Jon's parents, siblings and their families in the afternoon. We forgot to take our camera, but the kids had a great time together. After naptime at home we hid eggs outside for them and they got to have an Easter egg hunt, they loved it!

Finger Painting

The girls love doing crafts and getting messy. This is the first time Katelyn has done finger paints though and she wasn't too sure about getting her hands that dirty. As you'll see in the last picture though, Rylee didn't mind!

It's a Boy!!

Welcome to the world Tyler!!! Tyler Jon Sterk was born on Tuesday March 31, 2009 at 4:36pm. He weighed 8 pounds 10.5 ounces and was 20 inches long. I was scheduled to be induced on Thursday, but I guess he couldn't wait that long! My labor started at about 6:30am before Jon left for work. I told him that I was having contractions and he thought I was joking and said "I'm out of here!" and left for work. I kept having really mild contractions so I gave the girls breakfast and took a shower, then cleaned up the house a little and played with the girls for awhile. When I realized the contractions weren't stopping I tried to call Jon around 11am but his phone had died.

Luckily he was working right by my grandparents house! Rylee wanted to call them and right away she told my grandma that "mommy's tummy hurts". When my grandpa heard that he was out the door and heading over by Jon as fast as he could! When Jon called I told him that I wasn't sure if I was really even in labor or not but he came home right away anyway. Jon's mom came over at about 1pm to watch the girls for us and we left for the hospital. My contractions were still very mild when we got there, but I was dilated to 5cm so we went to labor and delivery and I was able to get my epidural at 2:30pm. We relaxed for 2 hours and after a couple minutes of pushing Tyler was born. Everything was so easy I couldn't believe it. With the girls the minute my contractions started they were extremely intense and close together. I knew I was in labor with them after only a couple of minutes. And Katelyn came so fast (3 hour labor) that I couldn't even get any pain meds. Tyler was way too easy on me, I didn't really feel like I was in labor until they told me I was at the hospital. This was my longest labor, but by far the easiest. Thanks Tyler!!Jon and his little BOY!!

The girls came up with Grandma and Grandpa Sterk to meet Tyler. Rylee was sooo excited to meet her new baby brother. And Katelyn wanted to "pet" him all the time. Rylee brought him a teddy bear too and kept playing the music for him over and over. He better get used to a lot of noise now!

The girls were having lunch and Katelyn decided to dip her banana in ketchup, she liked it and kept eating it that way.....she even ran out of ketchup and wanted more. Ewww!!

Feeding the Dog

This is what happens when I try to get housework done and the girls are awake.....I have to basically let them make a mess somewhere so that I can get things done around the house. I was cleaning the kitchen and the girls decided to feed Sadie when I gave them some dishes to play with. It started out pretty mess-free but got out of control!! I thought it was hilarious and the girls were having so much fun. I had to be the kill-joy though once they went for the water dish. Obviously Sadie doesn't have any food-aggression issues!
